About the university

Lumbini Medical College (LMC) sits in Palpa, a hilly district about 300 km west of Kathmandu at an altitude of 1,350 meters, with views of the Himalayas and a pleasant year-round climate. Established in 2009 to help develop Palpa as a center for education, health and tourism, LMC has been operating for over thirteen years. Private, ECFMG approved, English medium.

Documents required

Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates; current-year NEET-UG scorecard; valid Indian passport; recent passport-size photographs; migration or transfer certificate from the last institution attended; medical fitness certificate; NEET-UG admit card.

Accommodation

On-campus hostels offer separate accommodation for men and women, with air-conditioned, fully furnished rooms, reliable water and electricity supply, and a dedicated security system.

Visa process & support

No student visa is required: under the India-Nepal open border treaty, Indian citizens can enter and stay in Nepal on a passport (needed to fly) or a government-issued photo ID such as a voter ID card (works for land crossings). Admission runs through Nepal's centralized MEC portal (entrance.mec.gov.np) via the MECEE-BL exam or a NEET-UG merit route, followed by a computerized seat-matching result, biometric capture and document verification at the MEC office in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, and payment of the first fee instalment directly to the university's official bank account.
