01Who we are
MyCareer India is a career counselling and educational consultancy based in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. We provide career counselling, admission guidance, scholarship guidance, study-abroad guidance and student support services to students across Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast.
This policy explains what personal information we collect through mycareerindia.com, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to enquiries that reach us through it.

02What we collect
We only collect what a counsellor needs in order to advise you. Nothing on this website requires you to create an account, and we do not ask for identity documents, financial account details or payment information through the site.
When you submit an enquiry form, request a callback, use the WhatsApp or call buttons on our MBBS-abroad landing page, or enquire about a specific college, we may collect:
- Your name, and a parent or guardian's name if you give one
- Mobile number and WhatsApp number
- Email address, if you provide one
- Your current class or qualification
- What you want to study: course or category, undergraduate or postgraduate, India or abroad
- Preferred city, state, country, or a specific college or university
- NEET score and year, if relevant to your enquiry
- Your budget range, if you tell us
- Any message or question you type
- Which page you enquired from, and which form or button you used
- The date and time of your enquiry
We also collect standard technical information that any website receives, such as your approximate location by IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This comes from our hosting provider's logs and from Google's advertising tags described below.
03How we use it
- To call, message or email you back about the admission enquiry you made
- To prepare a shortlist of colleges, courses or universities suited to your marks, budget and preferences
- To guide you through applications, documentation, scholarships and, where relevant, visa processes
- To follow up on an enquiry you started but did not finish — if you gave us a name and number, we may call you about it
- To respond to questions you send by email, phone or WhatsApp
- To measure which of our advertisements and pages lead to genuine enquiries
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade contact lists. We do not use your details for advertising unrelated to admission guidance.
04Your consent, and the basis for processing
We process your information because you asked us to help with an admission enquiry. Submitting a form on this site, or using a call or WhatsApp button that asks for your details first, is how you give that consent.
You can withdraw consent at any time by telling us — see 'Your rights' below. Withdrawing consent means we stop contacting you and delete your enquiry, though it does not undo advice already given.
05Who sees your information
Inside our organisation, your enquiry is visible to the counselling team who follow it up, and to the administrator who manages the system. Accounts are role-based: staff who only manage website content cannot see enquiries at all.
Outside our organisation, your information passes through the service providers we use to run the site. They process it on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
| Vercel | Hosts the website and runs the enquiry form endpoint. |
|---|---|
| Neon | Provides the database where enquiries are stored. |
| Our email provider | Delivers the notification email to our team and the confirmation email to you. |
| Advertising and conversion measurement (see 'Cookies and tracking'). | |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation happens on WhatsApp and is governed by their terms and privacy policy. |
| Vimeo | Hosts videos embedded on some pages. Vimeo may set its own cookies when a video loads. |
| Google Maps | Displays the office map on our contact page. |
We share information with colleges and universities only when you have asked us to apply or enquire on your behalf, and only what that institution needs for your application. We will tell you before we do this.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
06Where your information is stored
Our database is currently hosted in the United States (Amazon Web Services, US East region), and our website hosting and email providers may also process data outside India. This means your personal information is transferred outside India and stored there.
We use established providers with recognised security practices, and we transfer only what is needed to run the service described in this policy. If you would prefer your details not to be stored this way, contact us by phone instead of using the website forms.
07Cookies and tracking
We use Google's advertising tag (Google Ads) to understand which advertisements bring students to our site and which of those result in a genuine enquiry. This sets cookies in your browser and reports conversions to Google.
Videos embedded from Vimeo and the map embedded from Google Maps may set their own cookies when they load. Our own site also stores small flags in your browser to remember, for example, that you have already been shown an enquiry popup, so it does not appear again during your visit.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you from using the site or contacting us.
08How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we are actively helping you, and afterwards for a reasonable period so that we can answer follow-up questions, support you through your first year on campus, and keep a record of the guidance given. Where we no longer have a reason to keep an enquiry, we delete it.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it by law.
09Your rights
In relation to the personal information we hold about you, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold and what we have done with it
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your enquiry and stop contacting you
- Stop calling, messaging or emailing you, while keeping your record
- Explain how a decision or recommendation was reached
To exercise any of these, email mycareerarunachal@gmail.com or call +91 80920 24366 from the number you gave us. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may raise the matter with the relevant data protection authority in India.
10Students under 18
Many of the students we advise are in Class 10 to Class 12 and may be under 18. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian in your enquiry, and ask them to make it on your behalf where possible. We routinely speak to parents as part of counselling.
If a parent or guardian believes we hold information about a child that should be removed, contact us and we will delete it.
11How we protect it
Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in a database that is not publicly accessible. Access to enquiries is restricted to named staff accounts with individual passwords, and those accounts are limited by role so that staff only see what their work requires. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form.
No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the appropriate authority as required by law.
12Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the way we handle information changes — for example, if we add or remove a service provider. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
